Are you dreading the summer holidays? Wondering how you entertain the children? Don’t want to end up spending a fortune? At Kids Beds Online we understand your concerns and are here to try and ease the burden for you as a parent or carer!

The UK school summer holidays are literally around the corner and it is important to make sure you have a plan, at least for the first few weeks anyway! So here are a wide range of different activities that you could do with your little (or not so little) children this summer holidays! Let’s make the 2024 holidays the best ones yet!

  1. Take a trip to the local beach

Dreaming about those hot summer days? If it’s a hot summer day and you’re looking to enjoy the sun while the kids run loose, then why not pop down to the beach! Your local beach can provide all the entertainment your little ones need, including swimming, sandcastles and kite flying to make the perfect afternoon of entertainment. Even on a cloudier day you can consider investigating the rock pools and seeing what excitement lurks in them!

  1. Head to the local garden centre

Whether your local garden centre has a pond and fish area, a plant area or an area to browse seasonal decorations, there will be something to excite the little hands waiting to explore. Take a walk around the bright summer-themed displays, check out the selection of back garden activities and accessories, and check out their animals while you’re at it!

  1. Go Geocaching

Geocaching will help to keep your little ones busy for the longest time. Geocaching is the act of finding small easily concealable capsules with gems hidden inside. With plenty of caches hidden all around the UK, wherever you are will be perfect for you to have a stroll and get the kids to find the treasures.

  1. Visit the local library

If your kids are bookworms or like immersing themselves in a good graphic novel, well then the library may be a great solution to the summer boredom. A lot of libraries often have events and guest visitors, so check out your local libraries website or social media pages for more detail!

Browse your favourite local library and spend a day reading from the shelf. Even check out your book of choice to finish it at home for free!

  1. Have a picnic in the sunshine

Whether its in the local park, your back garden or on a day out exploring your local area, what better way to spend your day relaxing in the sun (well, fingers crossed!). Head on down to your local park or field, and bring along a picnic basket and blanket. Bring along your cocktail sausages, pork pies and crisps to have a munch and some fun with the family.

Plus bring a long a Frisbee, kite or bat and ball and you can have hours of entertainment and hopefully with all that fresh air they will be asleep in their own beds in no time at all!
